Wadi Rum also known as The Valley of the Moon is a valley cut into sandstone and granite rock in southern Jordan. Wadi Rum has been inhabited by many human cultures – like the Nabatean – since prehistoric times, which left their mark in the form of rock paintings, graffiti, and temples. As the largest valley in Jordan, Wadi Rum, hosts our country’s highest mountain: Jabal Umm ad Dami (1,840m high). From there – on a clear day – you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Red Sea and the Saudi Arabian border.
Our camp offers multiple ways in which you can experience the beauty of this area. You can enjoy our unique rock formations and colorful sunsets from a camel, a horse, or a jeep. If you choose to spend the nigth in our campsite, you will look up at the stars and the Milky Way as the Beduins did thousands of years ago.
The desert has way more to offer than just dunes. Indeed, our guides take climbers and trekkers on eco-adventure tours, where they can explore more challenging routes. We also offer the number one desert sport: sandsurfing. Next to these experiences we invite our visiters to try out the life, the traditions and the meals of the Beduins. At nights, we gather around a fire lit with plants from the White Desert and enjoy our traditional food: Zarb, a banquet of chicken and vegetables slow-cooked in an under-sand oven – the old way. After dinner, you will get the chance to smoke shisha and try the Beduin tea, accompanied by traditional music played by locals.
